The park protects over 53 mammal species, 441 bird species, 374 butterfly species and is recognized as the true birder’s paradise.
Different wildlife that survive within Semuliki include vervet monkeys, chimpanzees, white tailed and slender mongoose, elephants, buffaloes, sitatungas, blue & red duikers, African golden cats, giant forest hogs, bushbucks, bush pigs and more.

Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Semuliki NP to explore the Sempaya Hot Springs
A delicious breakfast will be enjoyed early in the morning and after, you will be transferred to Semuliki National Park, the true birders’ haven. Drive from Kampala to the western side of Uganda, about 7-8 hours and this includes lunch break en-route. Proceed to the lodge in or around Semuliki NP for relaxation and in the evening, expect to embark on a night game drive. Look out for nocturnal species including leopards, primates like pottos and galagos, etc.

Day 2: Visit the Sempaya Hot Springs, bird sighting at Mungilo Waterfalls & Night Game Drive
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and after, you will be led by an experienced guide to explore the Sempaya hot springs. These hot springs are male and female, notably the world’s most powerful and medicinal in nature. On a visit, get along with some bananas or eggs ready to boil and within a few minutes, everything will be ready for consumption.
As you trek through the Sempaya trail, expect to see some birds like the blue breasted kingfishers and numerous primates including the grey-cheeked mangabeys, red-tailed monkeys and more. After, continue on a rewarding walk to Mungilo falls –one of the best spots to locate some of the amazing birds in Semuliki NP. Retreat from the morning session and have a leisurely lunch, relax as you get ready for the evening game drive or boat ride.
