Detailed Itinerary 

Day 1: Kigali city excursion, drive to ethnographic Museum

You will depart from your hotel for a 2-hour Kigali city tour. The main areas of focus on this morning Kigali city excursion includes Kigali genocide memorial, a historical centre where 250,000 victims of the historic 1994 Rwandan genocide were officially laid to rest. From Kigali, continue up to Ethnographic museum where you will have insight into Rwanda’s unique history, traditions and cultures. 

The ethnographic museum is in Butare and is a perfect location to have deep understanding of Rwanda’s unique history and geopolitics. At the museum, find display of items that were used in hunting, farming and animal husbandry, weaving and woodwork, etc.

Day 2: Nyanza King’s Palace & drive to Musanze (Southern Province Rwanda)

 Situated in Nyanza ya Butare District, the King’s palace featuring a beautifully crafted thatched dwelling shaped kind of a beehive. This is a royal residence of Nyanza King and provides deep insight into the distinct cultures and traditions of Rwandese society.

After the cultural experience, have early lunch and proceed to Musanze. Musanze is found in Northwestern Rwanda and is where Rwanda’s most popular gorilla trekking destination is found –Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3: Visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village & depart

After, have lunch and drive back to Kigali city which marks the end of safari.
