Following a hefty breakfast, set off for wildlife safari holiday in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Western Uganda. Located in Kasese district, Queen Elizabeth NP is Uganda’s most famous wildlife destination and accessing it takes about 6-7 hours’ drive.
Your journey includes a stopover at the Equator and lunch in Mbarara, then proceed with scenic views of the countryside’s breathtaking landscapes, tea plantations, rift valley escarpment and others. Arrive at the park early and you may continue with the afternoon game drive or relax at the lodge as you wait to engage in the numerous activities at Queen Elizabeth NP.
It is amazing as you embark on a search for early risers, small and large mammal species in the Kasenyi sector/plains, the Northern circuit of Queen Elizabeth National Park. It will be 2-3 hours’ game drive through the Kasenyi trail using a 4×4 tourist vehicle with an experienced guide. The possible sightings for the day include cape buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, elephants, lions, leopards, warthogs and many birds.
Retreat from the Kasenyi trail game drive and settle for a leisurely lunch at your lodge. In the afternoon, you will be exploring Kazinga Channel, a natural channel that links Lake Edward and George. The Kazinga launch cruise excursion allows you spot hippos, crocodiles and water birds –such as pink backed pelicans, malachite kingfishers, fish eagles and others.
