Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival & transfer to Kampala for relaxation
Upon landing at Entebbe International Airport (EBB), meet with your tour leader for a warm welcome into Uganda. After, you will be transferred to the hotel in Kampala capital for relaxation awaiting to begin your long cultural experience the following day.

Day 2: Full day of exploring & experiences unique cultures in Buganda
Depart from your hotel facility in Kampala with a local cultural safari guide ready for a full-day cultural expedition. Today’s cultural excursion brings you a comprehensive hand-on experience where you will actively engage in food preparation. Your day begins with the very first stage of harvesting the Matooke from the garden with locals, bringing it to be peeled, baking it using fibers, and mashed it.
At every stage of preparing your meal, you will have the local expert directing you on what and how to do it. What you prepare for the day is what you will enjoy as your lunch and often Matooke is served with stews, especially chicken, meat, groundnut prepared in the form of Luwombo –the commonest delicacy in Buganda Uganda. Today’s first session will take you up to 4 hours then you have lunch break, refreshments and relaxation.
After, head off to the Kabaka’s Palace to unearth the unique history and customs of Buganda Kingdom. From your visit to the Kabaka’s palace, proceed to Ndere Cultural Centre to enjoy the vibrant traditional and cultural dances and music performance that showcase Uganda’s distinct cultures and traditions.

Day 3: A cultural road trip to Mbale
After breakfast, set off for Mbale driving through the Kampala-Jinja highway. En-route, branch off to Ssezibwa Falls to explore Buganda’s rich cultural heritage linked to this site. From Ssezibwa, continue on a scenic drive via the lush Mabira Forest, sugarcane plantations and the new bridge crossing the Nile River in Jinja. You may take a break and visit Busoga King’s palace to explore the distinct cultures of Busoga then make the final journey to Mbale.

Day 4: Imbalu cultural experience
Wake up early in the morning, enjoy your delicious breakfast and after, you will experience the best of Bagisu cultural experiences. The most popular of all is the Imbalu cultural experience where the young are initiated into adults and in the course of the day; do not miss to have a taste of a delicious Malewa –local dish enjoyed in this area. The Imbalu cultural experience often takes place after every year.

Day 5: Mbale- Karamoja (Moroto)
Enjoy a delicious breakfast and after, head off to Northeastern Uganda to explore the distinct Karamojong cultures and ancient traditions. Arrive early and you will pay a visit to the Karamojong museum and Ateker cultural center.

Day 6: Mt. Moroto & Tepeth tribe trek
Early in the morning, you will embark on a guided hike around Mount Moroto. The hike includes a visit to the Tepeth tribe around the Moroto Mountain slopes. The remarkable bit about the Tepeth tribe is that they share a lot with the Maasai of Kenya. They stay in conical mud and wattle huts.

Day 7: Moroto-Gulu, visit Fort Patiko
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and later, set off from Moroto to Gulu city. At Gulu, arrive early and you will pay a visit to Fort Patiko, also most popular as Baker’s Fort, dating back to 1872. After the exploration at Fort Patiko, you will have a night stay at the hotel in Gulu.

Day 8: Gulu to Hoima
From Gulu, we embark on a journey to Hoima oil city. At Hoima, expect to get enriched with the unique cultures and distinct heritage of the Bunyoro-Kitara Kingdom. This area is dominated by Banyoro. Arrive early and check in at your hotel for relaxation, preferably Hoima Cultural Lodge situated just in front of the King’s palace of Bunyoro Kingdom.

Day 9: Explore homestead at Hoima & drive to Mbarara
Leave your lodge/hotel and pay a visit to the King’s palace or nearby homesteads around Hoima for an authentic cultural experience in the Bunyoro region. After, you will be transferred to Mbarara through Fort Portal tourism city.

Day 10: Nshenyi village tour & departure
Set off from your hotel in Mbarara for an intense half day cultural experience in Ankole. Today, the main focus will be visiting Nshenyi Village. This includes having breakfast at the farm, engaging in the milking process and other hands-on experiences.
After exploring more about Ankole cultures, traditions, lifestyles, settle for lunch and you will drive back to Kampala/Entebbe. En-route, make a stopover at the Uganda Equator for photography and finally get on your road trip to Kampala/Entebbe city for relaxation.
